The House of Silk: A Sherlock Holmes Novel by Anthony Horowitz

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s novels are extremely popular so there’s no surprise that more and more books about Holmes and a certain doctor are published each year under different names. Frankly, I tried to stay as much away as possible form this kind of books. I didn’t expect anything good from this literature. Plus had no intention to read fanfics. I’m really glad that came across Horowitz book though because I wasn’t disappointed.

The plot itself is interesting even for containing two parallel and connected subplots. And once again Holmes proved that he is genius for he successfully solved two different cases at the same time. The intrigue in this book will hold you at the age of your seat till the very end.

The writing style and depicting characters deserves a lot to say. Obviously the author loves and feels the characters. Sometimes it looked like they are more real than in Doyle’s writing. The writing style has been captured almost identically which made me really happy. All in all, it’s a fun read and a time-killer especially during the trips.
